G1 Climax: Ranking The 9 Possible Finals

8. Jay White Vs. Tetsuya Naito

Again, Jay White doesn't really feel like a tip-top guy yet, but even so, there would be better options for him than Ibushi should he actually go and win the A Block.

Tetsuya Naito is in an odd spot right now. Given that he lost earlier in the year to Okada at Wrestle Kingdom, and lost on the second day of the tournament to current IWGP Champion Kenny Omega, the defending G1 champ has no clear path to another title shot. That is: unless he wins the tournament again, which is why many see him as the dark horse favorite to pull a repeat.

A Naito-White match would seem a bit random, given how they don't have that much history together. Still, it would be a fresh matchup with an interesting character dynamic. Despite being a bit aloof and d*ckish, Naito remains the company's most over babyface in any city that isn't Osaka. Going up against a young, cocky, and dastardly Jay White, Naito would be an instant crowd favorite on way to claiming another G1 victory.

Still, White just doesn't feel on Naito's level yet. Give it another year, I'd say.
