Global Force Wrestling Announces Partnerships With European Promotions
The announcements and press releases continue to roll out from Jeff Jarrett’s GFW.
Ever since the companys initial announcement, Global Force Wrestling has been making waves -- whether its by teasing new talent, hyping inter-promotional agreements, or hinting at possible television deals. Well, a new deal has been signed, and this time Jeff Jarrett is focusing on acquiring even more international talent for his promotion. As discussed in a previous article, GFW has already agreed to talent exchange programs with both New Japan Pro Wrestling and Mexicos AAA -- two of the largest international promotions around. On the heels of those established deals, Jarretts company released an official press statement detailing further talent exchange programs on July 24th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdK8buv4MSA GFW has officially announced agreements to exchange talent with various European promotions. In all, five different promotions were reported to have inked deals with GFW. Revolution Pro Wrestling and New Generation Wrestling -- both covering various parts of England -- have agreed to work with GFW, and so have Scotlands Premier British Wrestling, Irelands Emerald Wrestling Promotions, and Germanys Westside Xtreme Wrestling -- home of the prestigious 16 Carat Gold tournament. In the official press release, GFWs Founder and CEO, Jeff Jarrett said, We put the word Global in this new brand, and we meant it. We believe fans want a wrestling promotion that brings something new and exciting and will engage them at every turn, and thats what were going to do. Furthermore, the press release stated that former TNA competitor and Britain's own Doug Williams was integral in setting up these deals. Williams said he is very excited to be a part of the Force The European style will bring something a little different to the table, just as the other partners will. Following the announcement, GFW also received press in the UKs Daily Star newspaper in an article titled The Force Is With Us. All signs are pointing toward a strong debut from GFW, but as of now, there is no set timeline for when that will happen. Furthermore, with all of these various partnerships, it seems as if Jeff Jarrett is taking a more territorial approach to the sports entertainment landscape. GFW will undoubtedly act as its own promotion, but speculation points to it also potentially serving as a governing body -- a 21st century National Wrestling Alliance of sorts. In short, it will be interesting to see what comes of Jarrett's new promotion and its various partnerships.
