Goldust Out Of Action For 6 Months After Shoulder Surgery?

Goldust underwent shoulder surgery this week. A few weeks ago, he noted he would be back in 2-3 months. Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it might be six months until he returns to action. Following the operation, Goldust tweeted a picture from the hospital on Tuesday. https://twitter.com/Goldust/status/598269723701354497 In the Observer, Meltzer noted that it could be hard for him to get a regular spot on the main roster again because he's 46 years old. Goldust took to Twitter and said this: "To you know who: age is just a number. Having the best years ever. I'll take my spot on the roster back as soon as i am healed. #WriteThat!!" There's no question that age is a factor, but it's hard to deny what Goldust is saying as well. The last few years he not only earned back his job with WWE due to his great in-ring work, but he's been performing at a really high level as well. His Tag Team Title run with brother Cody Rhodes was a really fun for a while and then they turned them heel, which really didn't work that well. It was a shame that the Stardust vs. Goldust feud was cut short out of nowhere. They had a match at Fastlane in February that wasn't that great because of the style they worked with Goldust not wanting to hurt his younger too bad. The story should have progressed from there with Goldust realizing he had to be more aggressive to help his brother find the right path again. Instead, WWE just dropped the angle and that was it for them. As a side note, it's been a bad time in WWE for shoulder injuries. Jey Uso is out of action for about six months after surgery, Hideo Itami reportedly needs shoulder surgery that will keep him out for about six months and Sami Zayn is dealing with a shoulder issue as well, which could lead to a surgery for him. We just don't know. Now there's this Goldust injury as well. It's a reminder that these performers are putting their bodies on the line to entertain us. It's not easy. Whether he's out two months or six months, Goldust will do everything he can to get back in the ring for one more run. Everybody wants to be a part of WrestleMania 32 especially when WWE could have their biggest crowd ever with 100,000 people in Dallas. All the best to him in his rehab.
