Goldust Released From WWE Because Of SmackDown Injury?

Incident occured at the April 24th SmackDown tapings in Grand Rapids, Michigan, leading to his contract being terminated.

The reason why Goldust was released from the WWE recently stems from an injury he was blamed for causing. We heard earlier this week that an undisclosed incident at the April 24th SmackDown tapings in Grand Rapids, Michigan, led to his contract being terminated. According to F4Wonline, the belief is that Goldust, real name Dustin Runnels, was blamed for the spot on SmackDown where Yoshi Tatsu took a double-team powerbomb finisher from Darren Young and Titus O'Neil and landed badly, in what was a horrific spot. Goldust worked as a producer for the SmackDown brand and was believed to have been responsible for the spot that those who saw live said looked even worse than it did on TV. Yoshi is said to have struggled to walk to the bad after the bump. Here's a video of the move; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vB5eqGdHno Young and O'Neil did not wrestle on the May 4th SmackDown show but were back to work at this week's tapings, notably using a different finishing move. Goldust meanwhile was taken from the WWE active roster to the alumni section on Friday when the rumours of his dismissal first hit the web. Personally speaking, the decision to fire Goldust seems sleight and my gut feeling is that there must be more to it than that, but the rumour is the dangerous and careless move he came up with has seen him fired from the company he has worked with on and off since 1992. Perhaps he was insistent on Young and O'Neil performing the move when others protested and it cost him his job?
