How AEW Plan To Protect Their Wrestlers' Health When TV Starts
AEW won't be burning their performers out with a hectic weekly schedule.
All Elite Wrestling's weekly television show debuts on TNT on 2 October, and Saturday's post-All Out media scrum saw The Young Bucks comment on how they intend to keep their roster fresh and healthy once the schedule kicks in.
Per Matt and Nick Jackson (h/t Fightful), AEW plan on cycling wrestlers on and off television to ensure that the wrestlers don't burn themselves out physically and mentally, which should, theoretically, prevent the audience from getting burned out on the performers as well.
This is encouraging news. Rank overexposure is one of wrestling's biggest star-destroying problems, as a dull sense of normality creeps in when you see the same faces week after week after week. Similarly, it's good to hear AEW will be taking steps to look after their employees' wellbeing (though full healthcare would be nice), particularly given how bruising, bloody, and hard-hitting some of their pay-per-view matches have been so far.
Per the Fightful writeup, it's also anticipated that AEW will finally name their TV show over the next week or so. "Wednesday Night Dynamite" and "Revolution" have both previously been registered as trademarks, though the promotion are yet to make an official announcement.
