How Serious Are WWE Interested In Signing The Hardy Boyz?

Could we see Matt & Jeff's Broken Brilliance hit WWE in 2017?

The Broken Brilliance of Matt Hardy, Brother Nero, and the Deletion saga was one of wrestling's biggest stories in 2016. The Hardy brothers' shift towards absurdism produced some of the most original television that TNA has ever seen, re-established them as two of wrestling's most talked about stars, and provided a beam of light in another dark year for Impact Wrestling.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Matt and Jeff are now men in-demand. Their contracts set to expire next month, and while TNA are looking to sign the Broken Hardys to new exclusive contracts, they face competition from WWE.

TNA's negotiations with the Hardys are said to be at an early stage, with The Observer reporting that Matt is angling for more creative influence. It'll likely take a considerable offer for new owners Anthem to tie them down: the Hardys are TNA's most buzz-worthy act, and they make a significant amount of money from independent appearances, which an exclusive contract would prevent.

A WWE deal would bring huge merchandising potential (particularly with the Broken gimmick), but the increased schedule is a downside. There's also the risk that they'd become lost on WWE's bloated roster, but with both Hardys reaching the twilight of their careers, one last big run could be too good to turn down.
