Hulk Hogan's Lawyer To Judge: "His Career Is Done"

Frustration sets in for Hulk Hogan and his legal team.

The ongoing struggles of Hulk Hogan led to the former wrestling star going to a St. Petersburg, Florida court on Thursday for a hearing with his lawyer as they complained about the tactics used by Gawker. Hogan is suing Gawker for $100 million for releasing a sex tape that Hogan unwillingly was a part of. According to the Tampa Bay Times reporter Anna Phillips, the hearing took place to to address a motion from attorneys representing Hogan to ensure that records unearthed in a separate but related case between Gawker Media and the FBI remain confidential for the duration of the Hogan trial. Hogan's lawyers made it clear what they wanted: "We want the chance to prove they (Gawker) were directly involved in this" referring to the racial comments getting leaked out. They claimed Gawker didn't want the videos for the case and that they were about the leaks so that they could "get this stuff out to the media."
The Hogan side made it very clear that they were serious about finding out who leaked those comments to the media: "His career is done. He's been fired from WWE. At this point judge, we want to find out what happened here." Gawker's lawyers claimed that "a long list of people who knew about Mr. Bollea's use of racist language long before Gawker learned about it." They also once again denied any involvement in the leaks: "It cannot be seriously maintained that if this leaked to the National Enquirer, that it came from us." After hearing Hogan's side and also from Gawker, the judge said that the docket was totally full and announced a trial date for March 7, 2016. Hogan's lawyers were furious about that, but there's not much they can do unless another judge hears the case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOiggDpfyRc It was a bold statement by Hogan's lawyer to say that his career is done, but until there is a resolution to this then that's an accurate statement. Hogan's name is forever tarnished due to his comments and if they can't get a trial for eight months then that's going to hurt as well.
