Will Brian Cage's World Championship reign come to an end in his first defence?

Just behind October's Bound For Glory event, Slammiversary is considered Impact Wrestling's second biggest pay-per-view event of the year.

Having been a premier event since 2005, the anniversary celebration show has seen some huge moments for the company over the last 14 years. From the introduction of the Impact Hall of Fame in 2012 to Samoa Joe joining The Main Event Mafia in shocking fashion at the 2009 instalment, you can typically expect to see a surprise or two thrown in at Slammiversary.

The card that we've been building towards for this year's show is quite spectacular. Between Brian Cage and Michael Elgin's heated battle over the former's World Championship, Tessa Blanchard standing up for the entire Knockouts division opposite Sami Callihan and the rest of oVe, and the rise of The Rascalz to become championship-quality material in Impact, it appears as if we've got some really excellent matches on our hands in Dallas.

At the time of writing, seven matches have been made official for Sunday's big show. Four championship contests (one of those being a Monster's Ball), a First Blood Match, and a hotly-anticipated Intergender Match. There's something for everyone with Slammiversary 2019.

With the build over, we can now sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening's entertainment.

The rivalry between Eddie Edwards and Killer Kross has gotten so intense that the only way for either of them to win at Slammiversary will be to make their opponent draw blood. That's a stipulation right up the alley of both men.

You don't see many First Blood Matches in mainstream wrestling these days, especially not in promotions like Impact. Nevertheless, it could make for an interesting stipulation here, especially with Edwards becoming attached to his kendo stick as of late. One swift swing of that to the skull will almost certainly make blood drip down Killer Kross' face.

Alisha Edwards has tried to stop her husband from heading to the dark side but it was to no avail. The former World Champion is adamant on inflicting pain and punishment on his current adversary.

Prediction: It's been reported that Killer Kross wants out of his Impact contract, and with Scarlett Bordeaux (Kross' real-life partner) recently departing the company, maybe now's the time for him to follow suit. Although he'd be a huge loss to Impact, expect Eddie to win.
