Is Becky Lynch Vince McMahon's New "Chosen One" In WWE?

The Chairman is reportedly very, very high on 'The Man'.

Vince McMahon has a new "chosen one" in WWE, and her name is Becky Lynch.

This is according to Dave Meltzer. Speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, he claimed that 'The Man,' not Charlotte Flair, is the company favourite, in response to suggestions that 'The Queen' was receiving preferential treatment by being "shoehorned" into the WrestleMania 35 Raw Women's Title programme.

As evidence, Meltzer cited recent TV booking patterns, with huge portions of Raw, SmackDown, and the Royal Rumble pay-per-view booked to highlight Lynch's badass babyface character and new anti-authority bent. He added that Vince was "insistent, absolutely insistent" that 'The Man' should win the Rumble, and that it took a lot of convincing before he came round to the idea of the Triple Threat.

This is surprising, as Charlotte has always been the presumed company favourite, at least among WWE's hardcore audience. To hear that Vince himself has taken a shine to Becky's performances is encouraging. She consistently gets WWE's strongest crowd reactions, and could well pick up the victory when WWE's women headline WrestleMania for the first time, making this a rare example of the company's POV aligning with that of their most dedicated fans.
