Jim Ross’ 10 Greatest WWE Signings Ever

WWE's greatest announcer doesn't only talk a good game...

Whilst scouting talent in his role as Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, Jim Ross was responsible for some of the greatest signings in WWE's history. Though best remembered as the voice of the Attitude Era, arguably JR's most important contribution to the company came behind the scenes. Between 1996 and 2003, he identified and managed a crop of emerging and established stars, always keeping an eye out for talent with that golden mix of charisma, confidence, and capability.

WWE's former play-by-play man had an excellent strike rate, with several of his hires going on to lift multiple WWE championship belts. Ross proved that he could spot talent in its infancy and he often ended up seeing that talent develop into proven ability in the squared circle. Some of his best signings still sit on top in the sports entertainment game today.

That's not to say he got them all right - he did, after all, sign the likes of Rico Constantino and Mordecai (Kevin Thorn) - who both managed to post only brief runs in Stamford. But the current AEW man had a big part to play in the signing of many folk who made a big different to WWE's Attitude Era boom and subsequent domination of the industry.

With the news breaking a few days ago that Jim Ross was perhaps securing the signing of "the next Brock Lesnar" in former football player Parker Boudreau, let's celebrate those 10 times he saw the future potential in great talent.
