SmackDown received another shot in the arm this week, as it were, with the arrival of former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal!

Those words will never not be odd.

The Superstar Shake-Up may have been last week, but it continued in earnest last night, as Mahal, alongside his bump buddies Sunil and Samir Singh, alighted on the blue brand. The Modern Day Maharajah was set to square off against Chad Gable, only for the match to be interrupted by Lars Sullivan.

Mahal moved to Raw during last year's post-WrestleMania reshuffle, though we don't blame you if you forgot that. Since his still inexplicable six-month reign with the WWE Championship ended at the hands of AJ Styles in November 2017, Jinder has slipped effortlessly back into his standard role as a preliminary job guy.

The former 3MB member isn't the only beneficiary of the extended shake-up, as Andrade, Zelina Vega and Aleister Black all migrated back to SmackDown having been shifted to Raw last week.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
