John Cena Reflects On Emotional WWE Raw Return
Cena speaks on WWE Raw, which hosted his 20th anniversary celebration this week.
John Cena has hit Twitter to address his return to WWE Raw this week, having appeared on the show to celebrate his 20th anniversary in professional wrestling.
The 16-time World Champion was featured in a number of segments throughout the night. In the centrepiece in-ring promo, Cena spoke of the past and thanked the fans for creating a space allowing him to be himself, before stating that if he ever returns to the ring, it'll be for more than a single match.
Cena then tweeted the following on Tuesday, saying that he was overwhelmed by the support he'd received this month:-
Overwhelmed with ALL the messages thru this month. Being at #WWERaw last night gave me an opportunity to show you how much YOU mean to me. Thank you @WWE for every chance you’ve taken on me, so I will continue to always give my best for my home, for my family, for US.

Raw hosted Cena's first WWE appearance since SummerSlam 2021, where he was defeated by Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the show's headlining bout. When John will wrestle next remains a mystery. The 45-year-old has been linked to a passing-of-the-torch bout with United States Champion Theory but although the duo interacted on Raw, nothing was formally set up.
SummerSlam 2022 (30 July) had been pinpointed as the show to host Cena vs. Theory. Theory must contend with Bobby Lashley at Money In The Bank 2022 (2 July) before that, so perhaps something will happen with Cena in the aftermath.
