John Cena Set For Big WrestleMania 36 Match?
Something big could be brewing for WWE's 16-time World Champion.
John Cena could be set to star in a big match at WrestleMania 36, according to reports.
Per WrestlingNews.co's Paul Davis (via Blake Oestriecher of Forbes), WWE are yet to set anything in stone with regards to Cena at 'Mania 36, though they currently have "big plans" in the works. Davis' sources say that people within the promotion believe that the 16-time World Champion will probably wrestle on the show.
This goes hand-in-hand with December's story that 'Big Match John' wants a "substantial role" in Tampa.
Though this should be treated as a rumour for now, it's hard to imagine Cena won't be doing something at 'Mania. Last year's event saw him reprise his Doctor of Thugonomics character to banter Elias into oblivion and he was squashed by The Undertaker at WM34. Even at this stage of his career, he's a fixture, and WrestleMania is all about big stars doing big things anyway.
It'll be interesting to see who the rumour mill throws out as potential Cena opponents if the big man is to wrestle. The last time he competed as the 13 January 2019 episode of Raw, where he fell short in a number one contender's bout featuring Finn Balor, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre.
