John Cena will likely head into WrestleMania without an officially announced match for the second year in a row this weekend, though the 16-time World Champion will be in the building on Sunday night.

The mystery surrounding Cena's bout is by design. This is according to Dave Meltzer, who, on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, claimed that whatever match WWE have planned for their former franchise player is being kept a "closely guarded secret."

The promotion could make an announcement on this week's Raw or SmackDown, though there's every chance the 41-year-old will walk into New York without clear direction.

Last year saw Cena continually challenge The Undertaker in the build-up to the big event. 'Taker refused to respond, leading to John sitting in the crowd for much of the show, only to face 'The Deadman' when he finally showed up after Cena's confrontation with the hard-trolling Elias. An Undertaker rematch looks unlikely, but isn't out of the question.

John's most obvious opponent is Kurt Angle, who's scheduled to face Baron Corbin in his retirement bout, as the prevailing opinion remains that this booking is a work despite several outlets reporting that it is legitimate.
