John Cena took to Twitter Monday afternoon to officially announce his return to Raw and the active roster. According to the 15-time world champion, he'll be coming back on the Memorial Day episode of the show - May 30th, live in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Cena injured his shoulder early in January, with the initial prognosis after surgery indicating that he'd miss six to nine months of in-ring action. He was subsequently unable to compete at WrestleMania, though he did make an appearance at the show to help The Rock fend off an attack from The Wyatt Family.

Based on Cena's cameo at the show (and interviews he gave around that time), many fans thought he was cleared to return to the ring, but his subsequent absence from Raw raised many questions. Just last week, The Wrestling Observer reported that a May return was likely for "Big Match John."

Cena's injury occurred only a couple of weeks after he returned from a hiatus to film Fox reality show "American Grit." By the time he finally does return, he'll have missed about seven months of action, a period in which Raw ratings have repeatedly reached record-low levels.
