John Cena's WWE TV Return Officially Announced

Cena will wrestle on the December 28th edition of RAW.

During Monday night's broadcast of WWE RAW, the television return of John Cena was officially announced for next week's show from Brooklyn, NY. Cena will return to face WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio in a rematch from the Hell In A Cell PPV on October 25th, which marked the last time we saw Cena. His last appearance on RAW was on October 19th. Cena's absence came about abruptly when he was defeated by a returning Alberto Del Rio at Hell In A Cell, losing his United States Championship in the process. Del Rio's return was an un-announced surprise during the U.S. Title Open Challenge segment. The reasoning for Cena's two month break from television has been to film a new reality television series for FOX. The show, titled American Grit, is a 10 episode series featuring strength competitions between four teams of four people (men and women). The competitions are listed as being "military inspired." Not only is Cena the host, but he is also listed as executive producer. The show will air at some point in 2016. https://twitter.com/WWE/status/679149407514660864 Though next Monday's RAW will feature Cena wrestling on television for the first time in over two months, he will officially make his return to the ring this weekend during a couple of WWE house show events. Cena is advertised for Saturday's live event at Madision Square Garden in New York City and Sunday's live event in Hartford, Connecticut. Cena will also be wrestling Alberto Del Rio at both of these events.
