Fresh off a successful IWGP United States Heavyweight Title defence at Ring Of Honor Global Wars: Chicago, NJPW's Kenny Omega has been confirmed for the company's WrestleMania weekend show in New Orleans, Louisiana next year.

'The Cleaner' has been signed to compete at Supercard Of Honor XII at the UNO Lakefront Arena on Saturday, April 7th - a show that'll go head-to-head with the weekend's NXT TakeOver special. Omega's opponent is still to be announced, but fellow NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi (the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion) has also been confirmed for the event.

NJPW wrestlers aren't usually available to ROH during 'Mania weekend, as their home promotion usually runs a show around those dates. These bookings hint that New Japan aren't running a big event this year, and that more talent may be free for bookings.

Running the 8,933-seater arena suggests ROH are trying to break their all-time attendance record of 3,500, which was set during this year's 'Mania weekend. It's also a sign that 'The Cleaner' may be committed to New Japan beyond January 2018, his contract's speculated expiry date, and that him potentially joining WWE is still a long way away.
