Kevin Nash has been asked whether he has any issues with WWE World Champion CM Punk following his recent comments regarding the current crop of champions failing to meet his idea of larger than life wrestlers. According to an interview he conducted on The Busted Open radio show this week Nash claimed to have “nothing but respect” for the self proclaimed best in the world.
“It doesn’t look to me like he spends a lot of time in the weight room. I just think it would enhance his look and everything. We were all drug free and drug tested for years at the WWE, and there were a lot of guys that had great physiques. I think that comes with it,”
When asked the same question again later Nash said:
“Yeah, I have such an issue with him that we fell asleep next to each other in the locker room in London (during the November 2011 European Tour) and I knew he had a bad back and I made sure that he got up so he wouldn t have to be in too much pain. I hung around with him most of the time that I was on the Europeran trip. I talked to him on a daily basis. We were handed edits to our live intereviews 30 seconds before we went on live to Raw and basically had the ability to look at each other like we’re going out into a fox hole together. I have nothing but respect for Phil, I’ve said that a million times.”
This completes a busy week for Nash as he has also been involved in a war of words with Chris Jericho on Twitter over a controversial comment he made about the moment Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero winning the World Titles as being “the day that wrestling died”.
Busted Open with Dave Lagreca and Doug Mortman can be heard every Monday, Wednesday, Friday in the USA on Sirius 94, XM 208, and Sportszone 860 on the Internet.
