Kevin Owens On Main WWE Roster Full Time?

The NXT Champion continues to make a mark on the main WWE roster.

Kevin Owens made his WWE Monday night Raw debut two weeks ago and he appeared on Smackdown for the first time this week. It appears as though it's going to be a permanent thing going forward for the current WWE NXT Champion. According to WrestlingInc, WWE is advertising Owens to appear on nearly every episode of Raw through SummerSlam except two of them in August although those ones just likely haven't been updated yet. In addition to being booked on Raw every week, Owens is also scheduled to work WWE live events on June 5th in Jackson, MS, June 6th in Baton Rouge, LA and June 7th in Lake Charles, LA. He may not work all WWE main roster live events because there are still NXT shows too, but there's a need for top heels at the moment and he's somebody that certainly fits that billing. It makes a lot of sense to promote Owens because he's in a feud with John Cena that will see them face off in a big match at Elimination Chamber on Sunday. You can't really drop him back down to being only a NXT guy after he holds his own against a guy like Cena. Whether he wins or loses on Sunday, Owens is likely going to keep feuding with Cena or potentially going after somebody else. Owens made his WWE NXT debut in December 2014. Two months after he showed up, he won the NXT Title from his best friend Sami Zayn. Ever since then, he's been booked as the most dominant heel in NXT and WWE was so impressed by it that they have apparently made the call to make him a regular on the main roster. It also shows that WWE is willing to call people up to the main roster with less than a year of NXT experience. Some have to wait two or three year while others have been there longer than that. There's really no rule for it. This is a great move for Owens as well as the NXT brand. His presence on the main roster will mean a lot for the NXT because when you have the champion out there against a top guy like John Cena that could lead to casual fans that don't watch NXT to tune in more often just to see who else is there.
