Kofi Kingston's WWE WrestleMania 35 Opponent Revealed?

No, it isn't Daniel Bryan...

Kofi Kingston Big E WrestleMania

Kofi Kingston has been on a tear lately, sending his own stock through the roof with livewire performances in last week's SmackDown gauntlet match, the men's Elimination Chamber, and an all-star six-man tag on this past Tuesday's SD. He scored his second pinfall over Daniel Bryan in as many weeks in that bout, and has now earned a big WWE Championship match against 'The Planet's Champion' at 10 March's Fastlane pay-per-view.

Kingston's surge has led to all kinds of speculation on who he might face at WrestleMania 35, and the latest batch comes from the Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez, who reckons Kofi will face someone close to him.

Speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Alvarez stated his belief that Big E will turn on Kingston prior to 'Mania. Noting, rightly, that the signs were present in this week's SmackDown segment, he says the swerve is inevitable, and that the two will face each other on 'The Show Of Shows.'

Given Dave Meltzer's recent report that Kingston isn't in WWE's title plans for 'Mania 35, this makes sense. It'd mean splitting one of the company's biggest merch-shifting units, though, which is why a hint of cynicism should be applied.
