Kurt Angle has become to the latest WWE legend to be confirmed for the All Elite Wrestling-adjacent Starrcast II convention during Double Or Nothing weekend this May.

AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes broke the news hours after last night's WWE Raw broadcast, in which Angle closed the show with a beatdown of WrestleMania 35 opponent Baron Corbin:-

Angle joins dozens of other WWE Hall of Famers at Starrcast II, including Ric Flair, Sting, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, and Bret Hart.

What's interesting about Kurt's announcement is that he remains a full-time WWE television performer. This will likely change following his WrestleMania farewell match with Corbin, but letting the Starrcast organisers announce his appearance while Vince McMahon still technically has control of his career is a bold move from Angle.

McMahon was reportedly furious when company lifer The Undertaker was confirmed for the convention in February, to the extent that 'The Deadman' is now expected to miss WrestleMania for the first time in years. It looks like this is something that the WWE Chairman will just have to get used to though, particularly if AEW and Starrcast take off over the next few years.
