Kurt Angle told fans he placed himself "at the very top" of the list of the all-time wrestling greats during a Facebook Q&A yesterday.

The current Raw general manager lamented the fact that fans of WWE largely missed his run in TNA, where he spent nearly a decade after a bust-up with Vince McMahon in 2006.

Angle wrote: "If you add my 11 years in TNA/Japan plus my 7 year WWE run, then yes [I am one of the best]. I think most would agree with that."

To be fair, you can't really argue with the guy.

Despite coming into the game relatively late - he was 29 when he signed his first deal with WWE - Angle quickly grew into one of the biggest names in the industry.

Having been at or close to the top of the card for nearly a decade, the Olympic gold medalist then helped to establish the TNA brand during its formative years.

With a list of great matches as long as your arm, there can be no real doubting his claim to being one of the best ever.

The only thing missing from his career is a tear-jerking WrestleMania send-off...
