Kurt Angle Wants To Wrestle Daniel Bryan

The former WWE star sees a match with Bryan in the future.

It has been almost 10 years since Kurt Angle left WWE for TNA Wrestling. Since then, several wrestlers have risen to the main event scene in WWE who never had the chance to wrestle Kurt. One of the obvious choices for a dream match with Angle has always been Daniel Bryan, and during a recent interview with Digital Spy, Angle let it be known that fans aren't the only ones that have thought about that particular match. Concerning a possible bout with Bryan in the future, Angle said:
€œDaniel Bryan is my pick. He always will be, I really believe he€™ll be back. Right now, pound for pound, he€™s the best wrestler on the planet. He reminds me a lot of AJ Styles €“ there€™s a kid who doesn€™t get credit either €“ he€™s one of the top three right now in wrestling, Daniel Bryan. I€™ve had my eye on him for years. €œIt was like when I was in WWE. I€™m happy, I€™m having all these wonderful matches, but that young kid over in TNA, that AJ Styles, I€™d love to get my hands on him. Eventually I did. That€™s how I feel about Daniel Bryan. It€™s going to happen. Whether it€™s in WWE or TNA or independently €“ we€™ll book it and make it happen somehow.€
The obvious barrier for this ever occurring remains Bryan's health. Though Bryan has been medically cleared by his own doctors, WWE medical personnel continue to rule him unable to perform for WWE due to injuries, notably concussions, suffered over the last couple of years. It remains to be seen if Bryan will ever be cleared to return to action in a WWE ring. Should Bryan decide to perform elsewhere once his commitments to WWE are fulfilled, a prospective match with Angle could certainly happen in a place like New Japan Pro Wrestling or Ring Of Honor. It's nearly impossible to imagine Bryan appearing for TNA at any point in the future, though. Angle also discussed whether he would like to be inducted in to the WWE Hall Of Fame. Angle said it would be an honor if he had the opportunity, and he also said he thinks that it will happen eventually. However, Angle mentioned his current status as a member of the National Wrestling Hall Of Fame due to his background in amateur wrestling is an honor that he holds in an even higher regard.
