It sounds like Cody Rhodes is well on his way to mounting a WWE return.

Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rhodes is making good progress in his recovery from the torn pectoral suffered prior to wrestling Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell 2022. Sidelined since June, the former AEW star has been working with "top trainers" to add size and reach a legitimate 240lbs in weight.

Cody is already "back to normal" with his ability to train and lift weights. But despite all this, there is currently no word on when he'll be back in action. WWE may opt to preserve this as a surprise.

Recent photographs of Rhodes certainly support the idea that he has been trying to add bulk.

Even with the lengthy injury absence, Rhodes has been one of wrestling's protagonists in 2022. Jumping ship from AEW to WWE earlier in the year, he left his Executive Vice President's position and returned to the company he first departed in 2016 at WrestleMania 38, sparking a rivalry with Seth Rollins that yielded three incredibly well-received premium live event bouts. He will remain a heavy Royal Rumble 2023 favourite until the 28 January event.
