Welcome to this week’s roundup of news from the wrestling biz for those that like their wrestling independent. It’s been a quiet week on the whole but we’ve picked up on the biggest news from outside of WWE and TNA.
$5 WRESTLING iPPV RESULTS ARE IN
In what was described as a PPV worth every cent of the $5 entry price, RCW World Champion Raider Rock defeated The American Idiot with a variation of the crippler cross-face, Little Donnie destroyed The Exterminator in a brutal no DQ match, Dr Blue lost a 2 out of 3 falls match against Charming Chaz, Dynamite successfully defended his ECW championship against Jeff Hart and Jesse the Jackhammer, Wolfman and $5 Shiek went to a no contest after interference from fake Kamala and in the main event Freight Train defended his $5 championship against U-Gene. The event was said to contain hilarious commentary which was the only real highlight of the night, but sadly the microphones kept failing so even this was lost on the viewers. The $5 group is an interesting set up but we’ve no idea how long they’ll keep going. Wonder how much everyone got paid?
CHIKARA PPV SCORES HIGHLY
CHIKARA’s recent PPV has been deemed a huge success mainly due to some excellent matches from WWE prospect Sara del Ray, former TNA tag team The Young Bucks and some guy calling himself Steve the Ninja Turtle. Results are below:
Ophidian defeated Sugar Dunkerton by submission
The Spectral Envoy defeated Soldier Ant, DeviANT and CombatANT when Soldier Ant turned on the heels and cost them the match. Great gimmick that you’ll never see on WWE or TNA.
Mysterious Stranger went over The Shard after utilising a blow up horse !?
Gran Akuma and 3.0 defeated The Batiri and Kobald by disqualification after outside interference.
Icarus cheated to defeat Sara del Ray. The match ended with a huge “Thank you Sara” chant.
Jacob Hammermeier beat Jigsaw. Jacob won after his “Guten Nächt” neckbreaker.
Los Ice Cream beat Green Ant and Steve the Ninja Turtle. Steve was a replacement for Marty Jannetty who no showed the event.
ACH beat JT Dunn, Aaron Epic and Vinny Marseglia. ACH and JT Dunn were really over with the crowd – these are names to look out for in future X Division tournaments.
And, in the main event The Young Bucks beat The Throwbacks in a 2 out of 3 falls match, 2 falls to 1.
