"______________ had the best matches of his career against Randy Savage" is a sentence that can be filled in with numerous answers, including some of the finer workers the business has ever known. By contrast, Warrior usually earns damning criticism for his own in-ring work. Yet, all he's ever produced with Savage was gems, be they lesser-remembered matches at the Garden, or pay-per-view bouts like this one.

Savage/Warrior at SummerSlam gets overshadowed by a few factors, including the lack of an ending, and getting blown away by Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith's all-timer an hour later. This WWE Championship bout was suitably dramatic in its own right, with two paranoid babyfaces working to outmuscle the other, keeping a sideways glance toward possible chicanery involving Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect.

Flair and Perfect insinuated themselves into the finish as part of their master plan, putting a small dent into the battle of wills between two heroes. Nonetheless, it was certainly the last great match Warrior would ever take part in. That's another notch for Savage's belt.
