Saudi Arabian NXT trainee Mansoor shocked the WWE Universe tonight by winning Super ShowDown's mammoth and frankly ridiculous 50-man Battle Royal in front of his home country fans in Jeddah.

Victory for the Riyadh-born rookie had previously been leaked by WrestleVotes earlier today, and sure enough, the man whose name may not be familiar to many fans sent the crowd into raptures - as much as they had been all night - when he last eliminated Elias to make history.

The over-populated over-the-top contest was something of a farce in its early stages, totally impossible to follow as the ring was packed rope to rope with human meat. Amongst the competitors were former WWE champ Jinder Mahal, US Champion Samoa Joe, Cesaro, and Royal Rumble 2018 winner Shinsuke Nakamura. How the mighty have fallen.

As more bodies hit the floor, the match began to pick up - it helped that it was possible to see what the heck was happening - until it came down to just Elias, Cesaro and the underdog Mansoor. After the songster chucked the Swiss Superman, he was caught with a big superkick from the Saudi Arabian. His first elimination attempt was foiled, but at the second time of asking, Mansoor backdropped Elias to the floor for the win.

Afterwards, Mansoor told Byron Saxton that it was his dream to represent his country around the world, before addressing his fans in Arabic. Finally, something good has came out of one of these drastic shows.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
