Maxwell Jacob Friedman overcame Chris Jericho at AEW Full Gear 2020, successfully earning himself and Wardlow a place in the Inner Circle.

After instantly iconic 'Le Dinner Debonair's, town hall meetings and even getting the better of two disgruntled members of 'Le Champion's faction, MJF and Jericho finally locked horns last night in a deeply entertaining showdown.

Both men performed like they had something to prove, with Jericho showcasing athleticism which shouldn't be possible for a star celebrating his 30th year in the business, and MJF aiming to prove to his rival exactly why he's worthy of a spot in the Inner Circle.

After a back-and-forth battle, Aubrey Edwards was suddenly distracted long enough for the veteran Jericho to acquire a bat to strike his opponent with. However, MJF brilliantly improvised in the moment and channelled his inner Eddie Guerrero in dropping to the mat as if already struck by the former AEW World Champion. This then led to Edwards arguing with Jericho, which opened up the chance for MJF to roll-up his soon to be teammate for the win.

With the match over and the decision final, Jericho happily welcomed MJF and Wardlow to the team. Though Jake Hager's unsure expression already seems to suggest that this new phase in the Inner Circle's evolution is likely to experience some growing pains.
