More WWE Cuts Still Expected This Week?

We're not out of the woods yet...

On May 6, WWE announced the releases of eight contracted wrestlers, including Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow, and Cameron.

While many expected that roster cuts were coming given the company's recent hiring spree, after the mass releases came, there was no calm - rumors soon spread that another round of cuts was still to come.

Over the past week, Cody Rhodes, Eden Stiles, and Adam Rose have all requested and been granted their releases.

According to PWInsider, the rumors of more releases coming - possibly even this Friday, as originally mentioned in reports earlier in May - are still spreading. Many current WWE talents are under the impression that there will be more firings this week, even though WWE's recent announcement of a brand expansion means that the company will need to increase the overall amount of superstars it employs.

Many rumors have been swirling over whom the next stars cut will be, but only two things are known: Ryback, whose contract expires this summer and who has made his refusal to agree to new terms very public, will likely not be returning to television, and as the release of Damien Sandow proves, even talent and a consistently good crowd reaction is not enough to guarantee continued employment.
