Last Friday, amidst rumors of mass releases coming in WWE, the company announced the cuts of no less than 8 people including; Damien Sandow, Cameron, Wade Barrett, Alex Riley, Hornswoggle, El Torito, Zeb Colter, and Santino Marella.
Now, PWInsider is reporting that there are more releases to come, and they should be announced before the end of May.
It has been several years since WWE went on a mass firing spree, but given the recent hiring of a plethora of new talents to the company's Performance Center, logic dictated that some stars would have to be cut.
As soon as this news broke, WWE fans noted that Heath Slater and Jack Swagger were both advertised for the battle royal on Raw last Monday in a pre-match graphic, but neither of whom were in the actual contest and haven't been seen on WWE television in some time now.
Slater has been particularly quiet on social media lately, while Swagger tweeted "Best job I ever had. Last day" in late April. At the time, he said he was referring to the end of WWE's European tour, but there's no telling if there was more to the story.
