Braun Strowman can't be pleased about this one...

Sami Zayn just won his first main roster WWE Championship, taking Braun Strowman's Intercontinental Title at last night's Elimination Chamber 2020 pay-per-view.

'The Great Liberator' scored the strap in a handicap match pitting him, Cesaro, and Shinsuke Nakamura against 'The Monster Among Men.' The wrestlers were in and out in less than 10 minutes and the numerical advantage paid off huge in the end, with Strowman taking several big moves before eating the post, taking his second Kinshasa of the bout, then eventually falling to the Helluva Kick as Sami's stablemates held the big man up.

Strowman had been Intercontinental Champion for just 37 days, having taken the belt from Nakamura on the 31 January episode of SmackDown. This is actually his longest title run of any sort in the company.

Zayn, meanwhile, just scored his first championship since dropping the NXT Title to Kevin Owens way back in February 2015. Recent months have seen him largely step away from the squared circle to concentrate on managing Cesaro and Nakamura.

It'll be interesting to see where WWE goes next with this, though it's safe to say Braun will be looking to put someone through the TitanTron on this week's SmackDown.
