NEW Match Announced For AEW All Out

A joshi banger is imminent.

As just announced on Twitter, another match is official for AEW All Out: Riho Vs. Hikaru Shida.

A meeting between two joshi standouts, they have clashed several times before in the cult Ice Ribbon promotion in which they each made their name.

Shida, for your writer's money, is the more complete talent (it's notable that she is under contract to AEW), working a more diverse and physical style consistent with an elite main event performer. Riho in contrast is the more sympathetic figure, leaning into the kawaii/Idol culture of Japan, and is more outwardly charismatic. The contrasting dynamic should make for an engaging match - an undercard show-stealer, if AEW's form in presenting joshi continues.

Kenny Omega believes as much; he retweeted the announcement, saying it was the match he is "most looking forward to".

No stipulation has been announced yet - but this could well indicate AEW's plans for the inaugural Women's Championship match. We know that the Casino Battle Royal on the Buy In show will determine the first of two contenders: might this settle the second?
