News On TNA Conference Call With Talent

TNA has an unknown future right now.

A lot of TNA's wrestlers likely have a lot of questions regarding the news that Destination America picked up Ring Of Honor, so TNA officials held a conference call meeting with their talent. Apparently the call went on for 90 minutes, didn't address anything that specifically and likely calmed some wrestlers down while also alienating others even further. TNA management told the talents that they had been given no word of any issues from Destination America. There were also no explanations regarding the current situation with Destination America including the story from Dave Meltzer last week about how Destination America sent a memo to employees saying they were cancelling TNA in September. Shortly after the meeting, there were reports on insider wrestling sites like PWInsider, PWTorch and plenty of details in the Wrestling Observer. That just shows how willing TNA wrestlers are interested in getting this information out there so the fans can digest it and also sympathize with the performers. This is also pretty funny because TNA President Dixie Carter was on Steve Austin's podcast saying she wants to use a lie detector to find out who is leaking stuff. It sure seems like a lot of people are leaking this stuff if it's going out on several insider websites almost immediately after these meetings took place. Dixie's comment was laughable at the time and even more so now. There were people that asked why there was no tweet or comment by Destination America about the cancellation report, but all management said is that neither side can comment on their relationship. That sure sounds like a lie because if Destination America was mad about the report then they could have easily said it was a lie. By not saying it, that's a way to interpret that the story is true. Regarding the shocking news of Destination America bringing Ring of Honor to their network, apparently TNA management didn't know about it until a few hours before it was announced. The deal has apparently been negotiated and agreed to for weeks, but DA and ROH kept it quiet. Following the meeting, there were several TNA employees that tweeted positive messages about the company. They also seem to be pushing the idea that ROH signing with Destination America will be great for TNA. While there are no current plans to run joint shows between the companies, TNA is trying to push the idea that ROH at 8pm on Wednesdays and TNA at 9pm will make it a big wresting night and that the people that benefit the most are the fans. That's one way to look at it. Another way is to realize that Destination America just picked up the company to replace TNA as their wrestling show. There's a reason for TNA to be worried because Destination America doesn't have to pay to produce ROH shows since they produce them from their deal with Sinclair. With TNA, Destination America is spending a lot of money to put their shows on the network. If ROH can get the same ratings or come close then that's much better than spending huge amounts of money to produce a show that isn't drawing anything.
