Tensions within the Bullet Club spilled over at NJPW's New Beginning in Sapporo last night, with Kenny Omega unceremoniously kicked out of the group after an in-ring bust-up with Cody.

Omega had just been defeated by Jay White for the IWGP United States Championship in the evening's main event when Hangman Page joined the pair in the ring. When The Cleaner then presented his title to its new holder, tempers began to flare with Bullet Club contemporary Page.

After shoving The Young Bucks' Matt Jackson, another co-member, to the floor, Omega began a heated exchange with a suited Cody, who had rushed to the ring ostensibly to diffuse the situation. The duo appeared to make peace by way of a fist-bump before the former WWE star nailed his former friend with the Cross Rhodes.

During the ensuing beat-down, Page returned to the ring to help bid an unhappy farewell to the Canadian before Kota Ibushi ran out to make a belated save. After some initial suspicion, Omega then shared an emotional embrace with his rescuer to close the event.

Long-term NJPW viewers will know that Ibushi and Omega previously teamed together as the Golden Lovers, claiming the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title once. They fought their last match as a duo more than three years ago.
