New Japan Pro Wrestling star El Desperado wants a piece of AEW's Interim World Champion.

The Suzuki-gun member planted his flag after wrestling on yesterday's New Japan Road event at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. There, Desperado teamed with Minoru Suzuki and Yoshinobu Kanemaru to defeat Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Kosei Fujita, and Master Wato.

In his post-match promo, Desperado stated that he had relished his recent time in AEW, which saw him wrestle Swerve In Our Glory on Forbidden Door's Buy In and appear briefly on Dynamite. Now, he is waiting for Moxley's response after declaring he wants a piece of the Blackpool Combat Club man.

Despe said the following:-

"I just did a short stint in AEW. I didn't exactly know when I'd be back here. I never wanted to go to America ever again! I don't want to, however... you see, first, Jericho called up saying he was short-handed. So Suzuki-gun teamed up with the Jericho Appreciation Society. Me and Lance [Archer] had their backs. All that and I was in the ring for two minutes, but I'd do it again. Then, were on the Forbidden Door Buy In. We faced 'Swerve' and Keith Lee. They were an awesome team! I loved facing them! Yeah, I lost, so I shouldn't be so satisfied, but it was a worthy fight and that's what I wanted. But there's another, more worthy opponent. Since then, I've had 'Wild Thing' stuck in my head. Moxley! He's enticing. He's made his mark in the NJPW and AEW rings. He bleeds. He makes his opponents bleed. Boy, that looks like fun. I want a piece. I'm not sure where... I'll go anywhere if you're game. I really don't want to fly anymore but if you call me out, I'll come. Okay? I want to have some fun, too. I await your reply."

Recent years have seen Desperado rise to previously unseen levels of prominence in NJPW, having reigned as the company's IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion twice since first capturing the belt in February 2021. Prior to this, he had worked primarily as a tag wrestler alongside Kanemaru.

Desperado and Moxley have shared a ring only once, finding themselves on opposite sides of an eight-man NJPW tag team match in February 2020. The interim AEW World Champion is yet to respond to the challenge.
