It was a TIE in this week's Wednesday Night Wars, as WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite both scored an average viewership of around 778,000.

Both shows were down on the previous week. For NXT, that meant falling from 845,000, while Dynamite experienced a slightly sharper decline, having scored an average of 851,000 on 4 December.

In terms of the key 18-49 demographic, both shows fell, with AEW sitting on a 0.28 rating and NXT at 0.24. It should be pointed out that this is comfortably the lowest number that Dynamite has posted in this demo outside of the wacky pre-Thanksgiving episode - a worrying sign.

NXT notched its usual victory in the over 50 demographic, beating AEW by 0.38 to 0.29. Dynamite won every other viewership group.

It'll be interesting to see what happens next week. Both shows are putting big cards together, with NXT's feeling like something of a mini-TakeOver, as NXT Champion Adam Cole defends against Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley does the same in a grudge match against Shayna Baszler. It's already one hell of a card, with Cole vs. Balor capable of headlining a much larger event, making things extremely difficult for AEW.
