NXT TakeOver: Phoenix - Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

NXT serves up two instant classics.

NXT once again staked their claim on a marquee WWE PPV weekend with NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, a (mostly) strong show which delivered where it really counted, even if the less enthralling undercard perhaps prevented it from quite being a masterful TakeOver event.

Still, a show that delivered two instant classics certainly deserves fans' attention, and there's virtually no chance that anything WWE serves up at the Royal Rumble will get anywhere close to this level of creativity and physicality (but here's hoping).

With more polish on the lower-tier matches this could've been an historic NXT show, but even so, it's hard to feel short-changed by a PPV that settles for "very good."

And it speaks more to the impressively consistent quality of these shows that something as well-booked as this didn't quite aspire to a truly great package overall.

As a show that saw new champs crowned, bolstered retaining title-holders and set up some tantalising storytelling possibilities, it was another reliable win for NXT...
