"Mamma f'n mia".

Those were play-by-play man Mauro Ranallo's exasperated words as The Undisputed Era, War Raiders, Pete Dunne and Ricochet thundered through their 47-minute WarGames main event at NXT TakeOver. Whilst the headliner was high spot after high spot and had the crowd hanging on every upcoming stunt, it was also an energy-sapping display that could've done with a little editing to trim the fat.

That's nit-picking, but it's also genuinely nice to criticise a headliner for almost being too good. Think about that for a minute, then spare a thought for those on the main roster watching on Saturday night. They must've been quietly wondering what the hell they'll have to pull out at Survivor Series to top the so-called 'developmental' guys and gals.

WarGames II was exhausting at times. The five matches fans witnessed pulled no punches, left no stone unturned and any other mentally-stimulating idioms you can think of. It was exactly what it needed to be though, and WWE (to their credit) let the roster do their thing without intrusive booking or familiar tropes getting in the way...
