Kevin Owens made a shock appearance at last night's NXT TakeOver: WarGames, emerging for the show's eponymous main event as part of Tommaso Ciampa's team.

Going into the TakeOver, the final position on Ciampa's WarGames platoon remained open, and come the match, the captain and his two team mates Keith Lee and Donovan Dijakovic still did not have a partner. But wait! During the contest, one last timer began to count down once every known man had hit the ring, at the end out of which Kevin Owens appeared.

The response from Mauro Ranallo? "Holy bleep, holy bleep!" That's actually what he said. Owens made an immediate impact, spiking all of the Undisputed Era, reserving a special stunner for their leader Adam Cole.

Towards the end of the match, Owens hit Kyle O'Reilly with a frog splash through a table, in stereo with Keith Lee powerbombing Bobby Fish off the top rope. Ciampa picked up the win moments later with a frankly insane Air Raid Crash on Adam Cole through two tables from the top of the cage. You don't kick out of those.

Whether Kevin Owens is set to appear on NXT in the future, or if this is a one-off, is unclear. KO has heavily implied a switch back to NXT, though he is scheduled to represent Team Raw at tonight's Survivor Series.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
