Owen - Hart Of Gold DVD Review: 14 Things You Should Know

14. The Monkey

It wouldn€™t be a DVD focusing on The Harts without a bizarre story about growing up as a member of that esteemed wrestling family.

Owen€™s Brother Ross and sister Alison talk about a particular stuffed monkey that Owen was infatuated with when he was younger. There€™s a great visual of a camera zooming in on a stuffed monkey on a sofa, only it looks like a scene from a crime reconstruction where you think you€™re watching a robbery take place and the robber sees this little toy on the sofa. Anyway...

Ross and Alison tell a pretty funny story about Owen making the Hart's cat, Heathcliffe, wrestle the monkey on a regular basis at the house and during family dinners. Alison remembers that €œOwen would make the monkey wrestle the cat. Owen would sit and tell Heathcliffe, the monkey€™s gonna win the match, you€™re gonna have to put it over€.

What a promoter!

It really shines through how much Owen€™s siblings loved and thought highly of him. Being the baby of the family, there€™s a real protective love for him that you see in the early scenes of the documentary. All of Owen€™s siblings are interviewed, except Bruce Hart.

I kinda miss Bruce's presence in this production, because you know he€™d have been rocking a pair of shades for the whole thing - he and his sun specs are practically inseparable.
