Another combatant in 2019's impending wrestling war has picked their side, as PJ Black has confirmed he has signed a new, exclusive contract with Ring Of Honor.

South African Black, who featured for WWE as Justin Gabriel, had worked a few dates for the company at the back end of last year, and clearly, they liked what they saw. Black announced his exclusivity with a post on Twitter:

Black's signing is another coup for Ring Of Honor, hot off the heels of locking down CMLL star Rush to a similarly exclusive deal. The company has been rocked in the last month by several of their stars committing to Shahid Khan's upstart All Elite Wrestling venture - a promotion which ROH effectively helped form thanks to their cooperation in the All Elite show last September.

Since leaving WWE in 2015 after seven years on the company's books, 37-year-old Black has been keeping himself busy. He had a brief cameo in TNA, before making Lucha Underground his regular home in 2015. With the programme on hiatus, Black turned up at Ring Of Honor's Survival of the Fittest tournament last November. He also found time to lose part of his finger and break several bones thanks to a base jumping accident in 2017. Ouch.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
