3. Ricochet
The Undisputed Era dominate over NXT following Adam Cole's win, with Roderick Strong also becoming the new North American Champion while Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly chase after the Tag Team Championships. Cole retains his NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano at the TakeOver over WrestleMania 35 weekend, with Gargano then heading to the main roster. Following the show, a new challenger makes it known that he's coming for the big one. That man is Ricochet. The Future of Flight makes it his mission to stop The Era's reign of terror over the entire NXT roster.
Adam clings on to the championship on an episode of NXT, pinning Ricochet with a handful of tights. Seeing the constant underhanded tactics used by Cole during his reign, NXT General Manager William Regal schedules a rematch for the title at TakeOver: Brooklyn VI that August, with the rest of The Undisputed Era barred from appearing at ringside alongside their leader. A ref bump allows the three to run to Cole's aid, only to be thwarted by British Strong Style as issues between the two sides never fully settle. Cole is distracted from all the commotion beside the ring and turns round in to a superkick, setting him up for a 630 senton as Ricochet ends his time on top of NXT.
