Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will return to WWE when SmackDown debuts on FOX this evening and while his role on the show remains unknown, could he be set for a big confrontation with Randy Orton?

That's the speculation after 'The Viper' tweeted Rocky last night, challenging the WWE legend to a huge, blockbuster match at WrestleMania 36 next April:-

The duo have never wrestled a singles match before. Orton's rise to prominence came after The Rock had left for Hollywood, meaning that the only times they've shared a ring have been multi-person matches, with the last example being WrestleMania XX's three-on-two pitting Orton, Batista, and Ric Flair against 'The Great One' and Mick Foley.

There's a strong chance Orton is just taking the p*ss here, of course. The guy loves messing with people on social media, so it's likely that the only reason he @'d Johnson was to provoke a reaction from the fans. On top of this, Rock's acting career has long been considered a barrier to him wrestling again, as his stardom means he can't risk injuring himself in an in-ring return.

Let's see if Rocky responds on SmackDown.
