Last October, Randy Orton suffered a shoulder injury that put him on the shelf and seemingly kicked off a spate of injuries among top-level talent in WWE.

Orton underwent surgery and was initially expected to return in four to six months, but The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that "The Viper's" rehabilitation is going much slower than originally expected.

According to the publication, he will probably start training for his comeback in Orlando from mid-June.

Orton, who has a history of shoulder problems, suffered his most recent injury at home while taking out the trash. He was pulled from a scheduled tag team match with Dean Ambrose against The Wyatt Family at Hell in a Cell and forced to undergo surgery that would cause him to miss WrestleMania. In the ensuing months, Cesaro, Seth Rollins, and John Cena would all suffer injuries that kept them off the show of shows, as well.

Prior to his latest injury, Orton was often lost in the shuffle of WWE's upper card. He returned to the company as a face in February of 2015 following a break to film a movie and began feuding with former ally Seth Rollins, but after that program, he began one with Sheamus that halted his momentum. Many have called for Orton to turn heel again once he returns.
