The men's tag team scene is only slightly stronger than the women's, and even that isn't saying much.

There was a time when SmackDown Live had a clear advantage over Raw in terms of the tag teams they had available, but that is far from the case nowadays. With The New Day not involved in the title hunt currently, The Usos moving to Raw, The Bar splitting up and The Hardy Boyz getting injured, the only relevant tandem that remained to take the titles was Daniel Bryan and Rowan.

They beat The Usos on the 7 May edition of SmackDown to become the champs, but as good of a match as it was, Bryan and Rowan have barely done much of note since.

The SmackDown Tag Team champions have largely been left off SmackDown for the better part of the last month, only winning one match alongside Shane McMahon and Elias on 14 May. They didn't settle into their first feud until just recently with Heavy Machinery, and although they're set to clash at Stomping Grounds, it isn't bound to be an instant classic.

You'd think Bryan would make any belt he holds feel more important than it does, but not even The Planet's Champion can escape WWE's bad booking and negligence for its tag team division.
