Reason The Miz Dropped The IC Title On Raw Revealed

PWInsider has today confirmed that The Miz finally relinquished his lengthy grip on the Intercontinental Title during last night's episode of Raw so that he can take time off to shoot a new film.

Miz, who had held onto the white strap since January of this year, dropped the belt to Roman Reigns at the top of Monday night's show. Aside from setting Reigns back on his path to WrestleMania stardom, it is believed the switch occurred so that the 'A-Lister' can produce the next installment of WWE Studio's Marine franchise. Miz has played a starring role in each of the last three films in the franchise, and apparently appetite exists for a sixth edition. Lord knows why.

It's not yet known when Miz is expected to return to in-ring action, though it's assumed he'll re-alight on Raw when principle photography concludes. In order to emphatically write him off TV for the foreseeable future, the deposed champ was subject to a brutal Shield triple-powerbomb through the announce desk after the show went off air. There's a way to win graciously you know, Roman.
