Even though Vince knows that Rock would take a leave of absence to film a movie, he still can't pass up the opportunity to take The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment and one of the greatest superstars of all-time with his second pick.
Vince would end up paying for the name and getting little in return, even though Rock would win an Undisputed WWE Championship that summer. Rock would only get two true months on Smackdown: July 2002 and February 2003.
His run with the Undisputed Championship would mean he'd split his time on Raw for August 2002, and would then jump to the Raw roster after No Way Out 2003.
