Report: Tessa Blanchard Wanted $150,000 To Return The Impact World Title

Did the former World Champion pull a Ric Flair on Impact?

She may be Tully Blanchard's daughter but the spirit of another Four Horsemen member dwells within Tessa Blanchard, who reportedly demanded $150,000 from Impact Wrestling in order to return the promotion's World Championship belt.

Like Ric Flair demanding $25,000 for WCW's Big Gold Belt in 1991, Blanchard apparently held her former employers up on her way out the door, leading to the promotion deciding to have a new set of straps made for the recent Slammiversary pay-per-view.

The new Impact Wrestling titles use silver plating rather than gold. On top of this, the self-proclaimed TNA Champion Moose is apparently using a counterfeit belt (!) imported from Pakistan.

All of this comes from Twitter user @BeltFanDan, who is a well-connected, informed figure in the belt-making scene.

Blanchard left Impact as their World Champion in June. The promotion decided to release her five days before he contract expired on 30 June, stripping her of the gold in the process. This was reportedly the result of several behaviour issues, including an alleged refusal to submit pretaped content while quarantining, leading to Impact fearing she would no-show a scheduled title loss at Slammiversary on 18 July.
