There had been distressing, fatigue-inducing reports swirling around that WWE were looking to extend SmackDown to an unnecessary three-hour length to match flagship Raw once it moves to Fox in October, but thankfully, it looks as though discussions have not evolved beyond the preliminary stage.

According to Tom Maglio of TheWrap, the blue brand will stick to the current two-hour format once it switches to its new home. The show is scheduled to run from 8/7c until 10pm - the end of the station's primetime block.

Although SmackDown is set to stick to it's more manageable length, there does apparently remain the possibility of additional WWE programming making its way to cable channel Fox Sports 1. We'll have more information about the broadcaster's menu of upcoming programme when they present their upfront presentation to advertisers from New York's Beacon Theater later this afternoon.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
