WWE is preparing a contingency plan in case the promotion is prevented from holding SummerSlam 2021 (21 August) at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Per Bodyslam.net's Cassidy Haynes, there is an internal expectation within WWE that they may have to bring back the ThunderDome within the next few weeks. Haynes' sources believe that SummerSlam can or will be cancelled, at least at the Allegiant, where the promotion hopes to welcome over 40,000 fans later this month.

The report adds that WWE feels they may not be on the road in the next four weeks and are concerned about operating in a "non-contained environment," with the promotion anticipating further lockdowns.
